Greg Hulsebos is a skilled musician and singer who is known for his variety of early ragtime, blues, and jazz tunes. He can be seen performing regularly at the Holland Farmers Market and during the Downtown Holland Street Performer Series.

Troy Kaley is a musician from Whitehall. Music is something Troy has always loved; he was trained in the art of mediocre trumpet playing but didn’t quite like it, so he quit and mastered the guitar. He now plays multiple instruments doing his best impersonation of a jukebox to entertain the masses. Troy hopes to someday make it as a not quite famous house band at a local pub.

Hailing from Kalamazoo, Doug Peterson approaches his music with irreverence and a sense of soul felt sentimentality. His sound has been likened to Cat Stevens, Billy Corgan, and Weird Al playing for a Victorian tea party after the wine has arrived. Performing a set, he can move seamlessly from a folk ballad, to a melodic hard rock anthem, into a quirky geeky love song, all while engaging his audience with anecdotes and personal stories.

Randy plays a multitude of different instruments, including the harmonica, Irish penny whistle, congas, keyboard, bass guitar and more. You can find Randy and his wife Darlene performing at churches, fairs and outdoor markets; however, they are best known for their street performing in Downtown Holland, where they regularly perform Gospel, traditional Irish and blues music.

Remarkably versatile, lower Michigan-based blues/rock guitarist Keith Scott has been working his way methodically up through the blues’ ranks since his parents bought him his first guitar at age 14 and his young ears heard Muddy Waters in 1978. He now maintains an ambitious touring schedule that has him driving hundreds of miles a week to perform as an acoustic solo guitarist through Michigan, Illinois and Wisconsin.

After 15+ years of crisscrossing the map in a van and trailer with the seminal Celtic Rock band The Lash, Rob Klajda decided the time was right for his first solo album. The album features a diverse selection of songs, with styles ranging from alt-country to children’s music to rock, with a touch of jazz, electronic, and world beat music. Rob’s performance on the GrooveXpress will draw heavily from his vast catalog of popular cover songs: country, folk, reggae, and rock from every decade.

Funktion

It could be the silky smooth R&B that gets you. Or maybe it’s the cool island dub rhythms that grab your ears. Then again it might be the rowdy hip-hop flavor that seizes your attention. But if none of that snatches your marbles, the unhinged, guitar-fueled fireball of funk will surely do the trick. But don’t show up to a Funktion show unless you’ve come to get down. The only way to withstand this tidal wave of sound is to get loose, get down with your bad self and feel that groove out on the floor.
